Lake Chattooga is a 60 acre spring fed gated private lake in the mountains of Northwest Oconee County, SC surrounded by Mountain Laurel, Rhodendron, White Pine, and Hemlock. Chattooga Lake Road is a 1-8/10 mile gravel road circling the lake and great for walking, running, or biking. Chattooga Lake is a relaxed mountain atmosphere, jet skis are not allowed and motor boats of any kind are discouraged. Canoes are the boat of choice. Chattooga Lake makes a very convenient base for activities on and near the Chattooga River including: whitewater paddling, trout fishing, tubing, and hiking. Less than 15 minutes to Oconee State Park (Beach, Picnic Area, Playground).
